Clinical counseling or psychotherapy involves helping individuals, couples and families as they move to resolve issues that are interfering with their lives in some capacity. I work from a Family Systems orientation while uniquely blending various mental health theories and techniques that have proven helpful in the change process.
I have extensive experience in the following areas: addictions of all kinds; grief and loss; recovery from childhood pain or trauma - such as physical abuse, sexual abuse or incest, alcoholism, or mental illness; couples relationships; parenting issues; life cycle transitions within families; job or career issues; and depression, anxiety or personal growth issues. I work with people who are feeling stuck and want to take their next steps forward in life.
If you would like to discuss counseling services, or would like to schedule an appointment, please call the office. Many insurance companies provide reimbursement for therapy sessions.
I have provided many in-service and in-house training seminars for professional staffs, faculties, colleges, Employee Assistance Programs, and organizations. I have been a presenter at local, regional, and state conferences and have been well received as an educator and trainer on various topics.
I provide supervision services for individuals or staff working toward the LSCSW licensor.
I have provided numerous presentations in the community on a wide range of issues. I have facilitated retreats, spoken to church groups, parent/teacher associations, 12-step and other support groups, and for private and public service agencies and organizations. If you would like to discuss presentation possibilities, please feel free to call.
